Credit Card Dept – No Longer Remaining Under Third Party Operation
When you visit a bank and apply for a credit card to be issued, most of the people think that the bank itself is issuing the credit card. However, that is certainly not the case. The bank usually affiliates itself with another credit card company that operates under the same name, and there is a separate credit card dept set up in the bank. The credit card dept keeps track of all the customers of the bank that have credit cards and are using them, as well as all the transactions that they make on it. Hence, you would know that the credit card dept is a different division of the bank altogether, which however operates under the same name as that of the bank.
Usually, that is reason why most of the people are surprised at the hostility shown towards them when the ‘bank’ calls them up and ask them to pay up their outstanding amount before legal action is ensued. This is because there is a third company, which is the credit card company that is operating behind the scenes. The bank grants them a separate department, which is known as the credit card dept in which they make all their dealings with the people.
Now days all banking activities are running on separate section wise, such as – account section, debt section, transaction (or credit) desk and official section and so on. It is the present banking policy for making easy and structural banking process. Credit card department is also one of them but it is associated with different company and that company deals for all activity with respect to card on favor of the bank and they are under the name of the bank too. They have own retrievers and riders for dues collection and for other activity they make notices to the customers while the conventional bank does not have any information about it and so on; but they try to follow the rules of the banks; therefore, in single word the third company works for the bank as it is hired to do so.
However, harassment of individuals is strictly prohibited and therefore, the riders and bouncers that the bank hires are not liable to harass the customers in any way. However, when you look at it, the credit card dept is actually a part of the bank and the bank takes into account all the employees that are present. Furthermore, an annual report needs to be submitted to the bank which entails all the dealings of the department and how it has fared throughout the year.
If you get calls and if rider knocks at your door and if you get any notice regarding your dues, for example, are due to the responsibility of the card dept and the other section does not have much notice about it unless they are informed. Therefore, you have to pay your visit to the card section for any reason regarding your credit card. Banks are very much sensitive to the customer and they always keeps the priority of the customer’s needs and they are committed to provide better facilities and services as well as they are strict to their rules and formalities.
